By renting from us, you agree to the terms and conditions outlined below. Please read carefully before placing your order.


1. General Agreement

By renting from The Library, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. If you cannot comply, you may not use our services.


2. Shipping & Delivery

  • Postage: A flat fee of $18 applies for overnight courier delivery. This includes a prepaid return bag. Additional fees apply for rural or Saturday deliveries.

  • Delivery Delays: While we use overnight couriers, next-day delivery is not guaranteed. Rural deliveries may take longer. No refunds are issued for courier delays.

  • Order Deadlines: Please place your order at least 3 working days before your event (excluding public holidays). Orders placed after 2 PM Thursday require Saturday delivery to be fulfilled.


3. Returns & Late Fees

  • Postal Returns: Use the provided prepaid bag and return items via an NZ Post store (not drop boxes). Garments must be returned by 1 PM on your last rental day. Late returns incur a $15/day fee, plus any costs arising if a subsequent rental is cancelled.

  • Pick Up & Drop Off: Free contactless pickup is available in Millwater, Auckland. Please ensure your chosen pickup/drop-off date is correct. Failure to adhere to agreed times may result in admin fees.

  • Late Returns: All late returns, including weekends, incur a $15/day fee.


4. Cancellations & Refunds

  • Cancellations: Refund requests must be made within 24 hours of booking. After this, store credits will be issued (valid for 12 months). No refunds are available for orders already packed or shipped.

  • Refunds: Refunds are only provided if The Library is at fault. You must notify us within 6 hours of receiving your rental if you believe it is damaged.

Refunds/Credits will not be issued for:

  • Fit or sizing issues

  • Change of mind

  • Flaws or details already described

  • Rentals already shipped or packed for collection

  • Courier delays


5. Damages

  • Cleaning & Care: Please do not wash garments. Minor cleaning is included in your rental. For damages or excessive stains, repair or replacement costs will be charged.

  • Loss of Garment: Lost garments are charged at full retail price. Lost parcels must be reported immediately for investigation. If proven lost by the courier, a refund will be issued.


6. Technical Issues

If a website error causes a double booking, you will receive a refund plus 10% off your next rental.


7. Theft & Legal Action

Failure to return garments, or failure to contact us, will result in legal action for compensation. This includes late fees and replacement costs.


8. Content Use

By tagging us or sending us images, you grant The Library permission to use any photos of you wearing our garments across our social media platforms or website.

10. Final Agreement

By renting from The Library, you confirm your acceptance of these terms. All decisions regarding late fees, garment condition, shipping, and other issues remain at The Library’s discretion.
